Among them, Merri Iddrisu of the School of Nursing stood out as the valedictorian, making history as the very first valedictorian in the inaugural cohort of her school. Merri’s outstanding journey and exemplary scholarship embody the spirit of the University of Ghana’s commitment to nurturing world-class scholars who are poised to transform their fields and communities.

Adding to the ceremony’s prestige, the Distinguished Teacher Award was presented to Dr. Derick Seyram Sule, a luminary in the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences. Dr. Sule, a diagnostic radiographer and senior lecturer, has immensely contributed to the academic growth and professional development of countless students, teaching radiographic anatomy, dental radiology, radiographic technique, diagnostic imaging, and patient management. His unwavering dedication to excellence in teaching and mentorship truly elevates the university’s standard of education.
The afternoon session was a vibrant celebration of 800 master’s graduates from diverse disciplines whose hard work and resilience have now paved the way for their continued success. This session also heralded the inspiring valedictory address by Sandra Enyonam Tsatsu, a distinguished general surgeon who has earned both Membership and Fellowship from the West African College of Surgeons. Currently serving as a general surgeon at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Sandra’s career exemplifies professional excellence and transformative leadership in healthcare. Her words resonated deeply with her peers, motivating them to persevere and excel in their chosen paths.
