The University of Ghana successfully continued its February 2026 Congregation with two well‑attended sessions for the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) on Tuesday, 17th February, and Friday, 20th February 2026. These sessions marked an important continuation of the University’s commitment to celebrating postgraduate excellence and acknowledging the hard work of students who had completed rigorous academic and research programmes.

The 17th February session, held at the Great Hall, featured graduates across a wide range of postgraduate programmes, including Economic Policy Management, Management and Administration, Tax Policy and Finance, Accounting and Finance, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Development Finance, Climate Change and Sustainable Development, and other specialised master’s programmes. This session highlighted the culmination of years of postgraduate studies, with graduands receiving well‑deserved recognition for their dedication to advanced inquiry, research depth, and professional mastery.

The week concluded with another strong showing on 20th February, hosted at the Cedi Conference Centre. This session celebrated graduands from non‑dissertation programmes, including:

- MA Marketing Strategy
- MA Counselling
- MSc Business Analytics
- MSc Disaster Risk Reduction Science
- MSc Financial Risk Management

- MSc International Business (with the largest cohort of 158 students)

This second week was further distinguished by the recognition of two outstanding scholars whose stories captured the spirit of perseverance and excellence that defines graduate studies at UG.
UG was proud of Dr. Joyce Nana Aggrey Adutwum as a scholar who “exemplifies resilience, compassion and leadership,” having excelled both in her clinical work and academic pursuits. Her commitment to paediatric care and health‑system development was highlighted as an inspiration to the University community.

UG also celebrated Ms. Maame Ofeibea Asokwa‑Boateng, who graduated top of the final cohort of the School of Graduate Studies with an MSc in International Business. According to her official feature, she embodies “discipline, versatility and quiet determination,” balancing her corporate banking career with postgraduate studies while nurturing her entrepreneurial ambitions.

Across both sessions, the atmosphere reflected pride, achievement, and the fulfilment of years of effort. Faculty, supervisors, and administrative staff of the School of Graduate Studies were commended for their steady support throughout the academic journey of each graduate. Their mentorship and professionalism continue to reinforce the University’s reputation for academic excellence.
