CONGREGATION CEREMONIES
FEBRUARY 2025
University of Ghana announces that congregation ceremonies will be held for students of the under-listed Colleges and the School of Graduate Studies, who successfully completed their programmes of study during the 2023/2024 academic year:
- College of Basic and Applied Sciences
- College of Education
- College of Health Sciences
- College of Humanities
The February Congregation ceremonies which will take place at the Great Hall and the Cedi Conference Centre (Department of Economics), will be held from Tuesday, February 11, to Friday, February 21, 2024.
Accordingly, students who completed their programmes during the 2023/2024 academic year and wish to be presented during the January 2025 Congregation ceremonies are required to take note of the following:
- Ensure that all outstanding financial obligations to the University have been fulfilled.
- Registration for congregation is currently ongoing and will end on Tuesday 4th February 2025. The deadline for the payment of registration fee is on Tuesday 4th February 2025 at midnight.
Graduands are required to pay GH¢500.00 at any branch of Ecobank, or online through the University’s website. http://www.ug.edu.gh using Visa/MasterCard/Mobile Money and proceed to their designated collection points in their colleges for their graduation gown and invitation cards for graduand and two guests.

Please Note:
Admission is strictly by invitation. Therefore, graduands to be presented and their two guests should come along with their invitation cards.
Graduands are also expected to be seated at the designated venue (Great Hall/Cedi Conference Centre) in the academic gown appropriate to their degrees, worn over formal attire.
To avoid traffic congestion on the Congregation days:
- All entry and exit points to/from the University of Ghana will be opened to the public.
- The general public is advised to use alternative routes if they do not have any immediate business on the Legon Campus.
- Guests and graduands will not be allowed to drive towards the Great Hall/Cedi Conference Centre. Shuttle services will be provided for them.
- Graduands and their two guests with embossed shuttle pass permits affixed on their invitation cards may enjoy a free return ride on the shuttle vehicles upon showing their invitation cards.
All vehicles will be directed to designated parking spaces away from the Great Hall and the Cedi Conference Centre.
The designated Parking Spaces are:
- The lawn opposite the Legon Mosque – Republic Bank
- The lawn adjacent International House/opposite the School of Law
- The lawn behind the University Guest Centre
All graduating students and invited guests are requested to follow the directions of personnel on the ground, to ensure orderly ceremonies.
