Virtual PhD Oral Examinations (VIVA)

Following the earlier communication on virtual PhD vivas, which have been scheduled from May 12, 2020 to July 2, 2020, the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) has put in place some measures to conduct the examination.

Each candidates should therefore take note of the following:

The examination will be conducted via zoom.

You are required to send a soft copy of your PowerPoint presentation to the head of your academic unit at least 72 hours ahead of the examination.

The SGS will share the zoom link with you at least 24 hours ahead of the examination.

The academic unit will organize a zoom rehearsal for you.

You will have 40 minutes maximum to do the presentation, following which the panelists, faculty and audience will be given the opportunity to interact with you. This will be moderated by the Chairperson.

The result of the examination will be announced after the determination of results.

You will be invited to give remarks (optional) after the announcement of the results

It is advisable to get an alternate internet service as backup in case you lose connectivity in the course of the examination.

 The following are the schedule for the forthcoming VIVA.
